A fabric that uses your sweat to cool you? Nemani says it's possible!

If you live in the tropics, you know how much of this fluid your body churns out, every time you are away from a fan or cooling system. Now imagine that every drop of your perspiration could be used up by your clothes to keep you cool!

This is what Rohit Nemani, 17, aims to develop to help athletes sweat less. This cooling fabric is proposed to have electrodes woven into it. He explains that the salts contained in our sweat can be used to generate electricity using the electrodes. This electricity can then be used to power an actively cooling fabric.

“When it cools you down, you sweat less,” Nemani said. “That, in turn, will turn off power to the fabric."

This invention will not only help athletes but people working in the heat and those in the military too.
